The return of the “raw” coin to our New York Store, that is what’s new! It has been quite a while since we sold a raw coin over the counter here, but we think it’s time to change that.
Many coins can be appreciated much more if you hold them in your hands and just feel their history. Of course, you don’t want to do that with your 1804 dollar, but a Very Good 1834 half dollar is very nice to hold.
Not every coin needs to be in a slab. Not every coin should be in a slab. I thought: “Let’s offer some low to mid-grade type coins raw and let the new owners decide how they want to enjoy their purchases.” We took two showcases and put out some nice type coins in flips. Immediately we started selling them, and it was great to see. Nice coins at fair prices.
