The All-Time Third Finest Set of FBL Franklins on the PCGS Set Registry
Adapted from the collection’s introduction by Jeff Ambio
Stack’s Bowers Galleries is pleased to present one of the finest collections of Mint State and Proof Franklin half dollars ever assembled. The John Stoebner Collection places this series in the best possible light by focusing exclusively on high grade Mint State coins with superior Full Bell Lines striking detail. This same critical eye was employed when purchasing the Proofs, which are of uniform premium Gem to Ultra Gem quality, virtually all with either a Cameo or Deep Cameo finish. This collector’s hard work has paid off: his achievement has been honored as the All-Time Third Finest Collection on the PCGS Set Registry in the category Franklin Half Dollars FBL Basic Set, Circulation Strikes and Proof (1948-1963).
