Several weeks ago, we featured the brass Continental Dollar on our U.S. Coin of the Week blog. This week, we are focusing on its pewter counterpart, offered in lot 5004. This piece displays the phrase “EG FECIT” on the obverse. PCGS CoinFacts states that “FECIT” is the Latin word for “made it,” and it is assumed that the “EG” portion is likely the initials of the designer of the coin. This coin is graded by PCGS as EF-45 and is further guaranteed by CAC. Bid on this lot as part of the Winter 2022 Rarities Night Sale.
