Our August Hong Kong Sale taking place at the Mira Hotel
in August will contain some very interesting Test Notes from Beijing. In lot
60162 we are offering a CHN 10 Yuan Test Note. This very scarce Gem 65EPQ piece
from the Beijing Banknote Printing Company shows a well detailed portrait of
Confucius at right center. A watermark of Chairman Mao Zedong can be seen at
left. This ultra rate note is missing from even the most famous and respectable
collections of Chinese Banknotes, as just a few of any Beijing Test Notes are
ever available across all designs or denominations. This exceptional uniface
will surely excite our biggest clients.
In lot 60166 we feature a remarkable uncut Test Note Pair
from the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This Chengdu Banknote Printing Complex (CBPM)
Test Note Uncut Pair will be an exceptional addition to any collection of high
value Chinese notes as it commemorates the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Enclosed in
the CAU 58 holder is an uncut design absent of denomination. Olympic torch at
left highlighting the seal marking the 29th Olympiad. The top example is in
blue, with the bottom in green. Minor Foreign Substance is mentioned on the reverse
of the holder, though we do not feel it is significant.
