Half eagles commence with 1795 and are especially rich in die varieties through 1814, with the vast majority of those listed by Bass and Dannreuther. Varieties after 1814 continue through 1834 and include a selection of rarities. Classic Head half eagles from 1834 to 1838 are also memorable.
Eagles from 1795 to 1804 are likewise notable and include most of the die varieties within this span. There are four of the Capped Bust Right, Small Eagle design type, including a 1795 13 Leaves, BD-2, and the rare and important BD-3 variety of the year — the famous 1795 9 Leaves Reverse —one of the most desirable of all early eagle issues. Another rarity is the 1797 BD-1. The Capped Bust Right, Heraldic or Large Eagle design type is represented by 13 pieces that range from 1797 to the end of the design type and denomination in 1804, the last in seldom-seen Mint State preservation.
