Currency lots from Stack’s Bowers Official Auction of the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Baltimore Expo will be available for viewing this week at the Memphis International Paper Money Show at the Cook Convention Center. All 1,224 lots will be present for viewing at table number 601/701. Catalogs for the auction will also be on hand.
Collections to be shown include the Thomas A. Gray Collection of North Carolina Obsolete Currency, as well as an extensive collection of equine vignetted obsolete notes and proofs and a special selection of Maine obsolete currency that includes a rare “Santa Claus” vignetted $2 note. In addition to those obsolete collections there is an impressive offering of rare Confederate currency varieties and military issued notes. There is also a nice offering of over 160 large size currency lots and nearly 100 national currency notes to be viewed.
The Stack’s Bowers currency staff of Brad Ciociola, Bruce Hagen, D.J. Olivares, Matthew Quinn and Peter Treglia will be on hand to assist you and answer questions. They will be accepting consignments to our Official Auction of the ANA World’s Fair of Money in Chicago as well as buying and selling rare currency at the table.
