As Stack’s Bowers Galleries coin and paper money experts are hard at work preparing upcoming auctions, we wanted to take this opportunity to show off a highlight from our official August 2021 Auction that will be held in conjunction with the ANA World’s Fair of Money. We are pleased to present an AV (gold) Aureus (8.07 gram) from the Rome Mint that dates to 46 B.C. and was struck under the rule of Julius Caesar. It has been graded by NGC as Choice About Uncirculated and receives a 5/5 on Strike and a 4/5 on Surface quality. The die is fully filled out and all beading around the design is present. This piece will be sold in the 2021 August ANA Showcase auction among many other desirable Ancient Coins and will be a significant piece for collectors to add to their holdings.
Coins in Motion seeks to enable collectors, bidders, and consignors to accurately appreciate how Stack’s Bowers Galleries coins look in hand. Ultra-high resolution animations depict how luster moves over the coin’s surfaces, while the rotating motion allows for any possible imperfections to be revealed. Stack’s Bowers Galleries is proud to have acquired Coins in Motion. To view our YouTube Playlist dedicated to Coins in Motion, click here. Videos are added weekly.
