Offered in this week’s iAuction is a deeply toned 1795 silver dollar, of the Centered Draped Bust variety. This is always a popular type coin, the second year of issue for the denomination, and the first year of the Draped Bust, Small Eagle type. In 1795 there were two Draped Bust varieties, one with the bust centered nicely and one where the bust is off center.
The coin we are offering, is a PCGS-certified AU-50, that is well struck and attractively toned. Only the slightest hint of high point wear is evident. This piece would make a fine addition to a U.S. type set or a high grade set of early dollars. Either way, if you are interested in early American federal coins, be sure to review this coin along with our entire current iAuction at StacksBowers.com. We wish you luck in bidding.
