The Long Whisker Dragon Dollar is among the most popular and sought-after Chinese pattern dollars. There have been fewer than 25 examples certified by PCGS. One of the things that stands out when looking at the specimen in our May Hong Kong auction is the immense beauty and design captured within the small size of the coin. The surfaces were specially prepared and much attention was paid to its striking. The grade of Specimen-63+ makes it the second finest known for the issue, only surpassed by a Specimen-64 example. We estimate the coin will bring $750,000 to $1,500,000 in the May 2022 Rarities Night Auction.
