On the obverse of Betts-5, we see a bust of Philip II with an inscription surrounding him. The reverse of the medal features a bust of Queen Isabella. Philip II was married four times. He wed Mary of Portugal in 1543 who bore him a son but died in 1545; second came Queen Mary of England in 1554, who died childless in 1558. He married Isabella of Valois on June 22, 1559 and Ann of Austria in 1570.
