On the obverse of this medal, we see an armored bust of Charles III facing the right. On the reverse is the crowned arms of Santo Domingo. The outer border of the shield is comprised of castles and lions in alternating order, with a diagonal banner running from the upper left to the lower right.
The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the January 2015 NYINC Auction, where it realized $10,575.
