The obverse of the medal shows a bareheaded, draped, and armored bust facing the right; all within leaved border. The reverse features the crowned coat-of-arms of Santiago: a shield with lion rampant and escallops; crowned Pillars of Hercules to left and right; below, a burning heart between AM-AT. As recorded by Agustin Tapis, the proclamation ceremonies took place November 4, 1760.
The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the Summer 2022 Global Showcase Auction, where it realized $6,000.
