9,321 Proofs of the 1939 Mercury dime were struck, and examples can be found up to and including PR-68. This is also the only Proof Mercury dime issue that can be occasionally found with cameo contrast. For all other dates, cameos are either extremely rare or non-existent.

The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the August 2012 Philadelphia ANA Auction, where it realized $1,769.
