For 1938, 8,728 proof Mercury dimes were sold. While easily found in grades of PR-64 to 67, a PR-68 will take a bit of searching, but can be found with a bit of patience.
The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the September 2023 Collectors Choice Online Auction, where it realized $456.
