1936 Walking Liberty Half Dollar
First introduced for circulation in 1916, it would take a full two decades before any Proofs were struck for the Walking Liberty half dollar series. The 1936 Walking Liberty Half Dollar Proof is not only the first Proof half dollar struck at the Mint since 1915, but also the key date for its series. The mintage of 3,901 pieces was significantly lower than that of the other six Proofs of the Walking Liberty half dollar type, and they are eagerly sought at all levels of preservation.
The 1936 half dollar is conditionally rare in MS-67 conditions. It is otherwise a readily obtainable middle date Walking Liberty half dollar issue.
