1928-S Standing Liberty Quarter
More common in Mint State than a limited mintage of 2,644,000 pieces might imply, the 1928-S was obviously saved in significant numbers at the time of issue. However, most survivors are poorly struck and lack definition to Liberty's head and shield elements.
The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the August 2018 Philadelphia ANA Auction, where it realized $4,080.
