1918 Walking Liberty Half Dollar
The 1918 Walking Liberty Half Dollar was produced to the extent of 6,634,000 pieces, a generous total for a pre-1934 issue of this type. Due to its status as a product of the Philadelphia Mint, this issue is often regarded as one of the more readily obtainable early date Walking Liberty half dollars. It is, but only in circulated grades. Mint State survivors are surprisingly scarce given the respectable mintage, and most grade no finer than MS-64. Scarce in MS-65, the 1918 is rare in higher grades
