1918 Standing Liberty Quarter
The best-struck SLQ up to that point in time after only the 1917 Type I, the 1918 is a relatively easy issue to locate through MS-65 FH. Above that grade level, however, examples become very scarce-to-rare in numismatic circles. Although the 1918 numbers among the easier early date Standing Liberty quarters to locate with Full Head definition, the issue is far rarer than the 1917 Type I with this distinction.
The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the D. Brent Pogue Part VII Auction, where it realized $21,600.
