Despite its status as one of the most available issues from the pre-1920 Saint-Gaudens double eagle series, the 1914-S is scarce in MS-65+/MS-66 and virtually unknown any finer.
The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the November 2023 Showcase Auction, where it realized $19,200.
