The Denver Mint's second and final contribution to the Liberty Head double eagle series has a mintage of 842,250 pieces. The Mint State population is thought to be in the mid to high four-figure range, making the issue readily obtainable in all but the finest grades.
The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the March 2012 Baltimore Auction, where it realized $74,750.
