1900-O/CC Morgan Dollar
Guidelines for Collecting:
Two distinctly different reverse hubs were used in making dies this year, called C-3 (old style) and C-4 (new.) The 1900-O/CC is one of the more interesting varieties in the series. The variety attracted little attention and was not in demand in the early part of the 20th century. As interest in Morgan dollars has expanded in recent decades, the 1900-O/CC dollar has earned a spot in specialized collections. Most coins are well struck and the luster is usually excellent.
Availability in Circulated Grades:
Available in EF and AU if desired, and if not certified, a variety that can be cherrypicked with a bit of luck.
Availability in Mint State Grades:
Keep an eye out for a sharply struck and fully lustrous MS-64 example for a solid value in today’s numismatic marketplace.
Availability in Proof:
None produced.
The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the August 2021 ANA Auction, where it realized $6,000.
