1890-S Morgan Dollar
Guidelines for Collecting:
The San Francisco Mint turned out dollars this year that were well struck, lustrous, and very attractive. Choice and gem examples are well within the reach of most collectors. This is one of the more available Morgan dollars in Mint State.
Availability in Circulated Grades:
EF and AU specimens are always available.
Availability in Mint State Grades:
Not a common date in Mint State, but not a great rarity either. MS-63 and 64 coins are in abundance, and if your tastes run a little finer, gems and ultra-gems are available to those with patience. MS-64 is an optimal grade in our opinion.
Availability in Proof:
None produced.
The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the June 2018 Baltimore Auction, where it realized $3,120.
