The total mintage for the Proof 1886 cent is 4,290 pieces, with Rick Snow (2014) estimating that only 1,750 of those coins were struck from dies produced from the newly introduced Type II obverse hub. For both types, grading statistics show us that a modest 6% are found with full Red color. Finding one of these will be a challenge, but will truly elevate your collection.
