Flying Eagle and Indian cent expert Rick Snow (2014) estimates that the Mint struck 300 Proofs of this issue, a one-year type as the only Indian cent produced in bronze composition without the designer's initial L on the obverse. Snow-PR2 accounts for the vast majority of survivors, the author asserting that upward of 200 specimens were coined from these dies.
The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the March 2012 Baltimore Auction, where it realized $16,100.
