Stacks Bowers Galleries continues its legacy of record breaking success with the results of the first auction offering of coins from the L. E. Bruun Collection, held on September 14th in Copenhagen, Denmark. The sale took place in the ballroom of the Odd Fellow Palace in front of a packed gallery of avid buyers as well as a worldwide audience that participated live via the Stacks Bowers Galleries website. When the last of the 286 lots crossed the block, €14,820,900 (over $16.5 million U.S.) in Scandinavian coins had been sold to collectors and dealers worldwide. (All prices include the buyers fee.)

Stacks Bowers Galleries has been selected by The Royal Mint of The United Kingdom to sell a special selection of First Strike gold and silver bullion coinage in a dedicated series of auctions taking place on Monday, September 30 and Tuesday, October 1. Presented are the first coins struck of the 2023 Coronation 1oz Gold and Silver bullion coins, the 2023 Coronation Britannia 1oz Gold and Silver bullion coins, the 2024 Britannia and Liberty 1oz Gold, 1/4oz Gold, and 1oz Silver bullion coins, as well as the 2024 Lion and Eagle 1oz Gold and Silver bullion coins. These are significant for being among the first coins produced in the name of King Charles III and they represent some of the most innovative designs to emerge from The Royal Mint in modern times. They serve as tangible and captivating treasures marking this new chapter of British and world numismatics.

With live and online sessions spanning nearly two weeks from August 12th through 23rd, the 5,000+ lots of Ancient and World coins and nearly 900 lots of World paper money held great appeal for collectors of any budget and encompassed a wide range of interests.
