You’re invited! Stack’s Bowers Galleries is pleased to present a Question and Answer Symposium with founders Harvey G. Stack, Lawrence R. Stack, and Q. David Bowers Friday, March 28, 2014, at noon ET, in room 310 at the Baltimore Convention Center.
Moderated by Christine Karstedt, executive vice president of Stack’s Bowers Galleries, the session will focus on answering a variety of numismatic questions, including how to start a collection, how to add to a current collection, and how to buy and sell numismatic items in today’s market.
Share history, ask questions, and chat with these renowned numismatists, who will take your questions, tell their stories, and guarantee you a session of interest and excitement. The panel includes Harvey G. Stack, who began his career in the 1940s; Lawrence R. Stack, numismatist and collector since 1972; and Q. David Bowers, renowned coin dealer since 1953, and auctioneer with more than 50 years of experience. All three professionals have handled many famous rarities and collections, including The Eliasberg Collection (the only complete collection of U.S. coins ever formed), The Harry W. Bass, Jr. Collection, The Josiah K. Lilly Collection (part of the main gold exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution), the world-record setting $10 million 1794 Flowing Hair Silver Dollar from The Cardinal Collection, and many more.
“Harvey, Larry and Dave have handled more rarities, more great collections, and have been more important in the history of American numismatics than any other trio that can be imagined,” said Karstedt. “Harvey and Dave are very actively involved with our clients today and have decades of expertise to lend to any collector, big or small, and Larry’s expertise is diverse in covering all areas of U.S., world and ancient coins, plus paper money, tokens, medals, and just about anything numismatic. They want collectors everywhere to know they are here to share their decades of experience and numismatic advice whenever needed.”
