Stack’s Bowers Galleries offers American Silver Eagles in special PCGS holders hand-signed by Q. David Bowers. These commemorate the openings of our galleries in New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston, and bear dates that correspond to the year in which each gallery opened.
The holders feature photos of the skylines of each city and are signed by Stack’s Bowers Galleries’ co-founder Q. David Bowers. The New York City gallery slab includes a photo of the Statue of Liberty, while Philadelphia’s features the Liberty Bell, and Boston’s the Bunker Hill Monument. 500 holders were produced for each gallery. All the American Silver Eagles in the commemorative holders received a GEM UNC grade.
A name known to virtually anyone with any experience in coin collecting, Bowers’ signature also appears on PCGS holders housing Civil War tokens from Dave’s reference collection.
Stack’s Bowers Galleries’ current location in New York City, at 470 Park Avenue, opened in spring 2020. Previously, the New York store had been at 123 W. 57th Street for more than 50 years. The Philadelphia gallery is located at 1735 Market Street on the corner of 18th and JFK Boulevard and opened in 2021. Our newest gallery opened in October 2022 and sits directly between Faneuil Hall and State Street in downtown Boston.
The American Silver Eagles in QDB-signed commemorative slabs are available in our galleries and featured in our weekly Precious Metal Auctions. Examples often appear on the secondary market, too.
