We are pleased to announce that our Executive Vice President Christine Karstedt was designated an Honorary Life Member of the Colonial Coin Collectors Club at that group’s annual Board of Directors meeting held last week in Baltimore, Maryland. As recognition for her longtime support of the hobby and C4, Chris becomes only the sixth person and the first woman to receive this highest honor bestowed by the organization. Those honored in the past have been Q. David Bowers, Eric Newman, Kenneth Bressett, Phil Mossman, and Gary Trudgen.
Chris has been a part of the numismatic hobby for more than 30, and during that time has become a fixture at coin conventions around the United States. She has attended nearly every sale hosted by Stack’s Bowers Galleries and its predecessor firms, having served as auctioneer for many significant sales. She has played an integral role in bringing some of the most legendary cabinets to auction, including the D. Brent Pogue Collection, the Joel R. Anderson Collection, the Harry Bass Collection, the Norweb Collection, and countless others. We at Stack’s Bowers Galleries are proud of Chris’ accomplishments and grateful for her ongoing commitment to the hobby and to our firm. We congratulate her on this outstanding honor.
