In the upcoming August 2022 Global Showcase Auction being presented by Stack’s Bowers Galleries, we will be selling an 1861 Original Confederate States of America cent. This copper-nickel example has the medallic alignment with the reverse rotated a few degrees clockwise. As we state in our description of the coin, all details are vivid and well-struck, as is common for this type of coin. While there are eight coins that have been graded finer at PCGS, we think that this Specimen-58 example has considerable eye appeal and is worthy of strong bidding.
