As the numismatic summer road trip winds down, we travel this week to Colorado Springs, home of the American Numismatic Association Headquarters as well as The Edward C. Rochette Money Museum. The Money Museum offers a wide variety of exhibits that appeal to all ages and all numismatic interests. And, if you are an ANA member, admission is free! To learn more about ANA membership and the benefits that come with it, you can visit the organizations website at money.org or call 800-514-2646.
Through March 2017, the museum offers a timely exhibit called “The Olympic Games – History and Numismatics.” Featured are numismatic objects and memorabilia related to the Olympics from their ancient beginnings up through modern times.
Ongoing exhibits at the museum include the Kids Zone, The History of Money, Tales from the Vault and, of course, the Harry W. Bass Gallery that houses some of the most impressive and interesting coins collected by that well-known connoisseur. As far as numismatic attractions go, it doesn’t get much better than this.
