Lot 1252 of our January NYINC sale will feature an exciting Malaysian Specimen and
Progressive Proof set for Pick 25, a 1982 500 Ringgit banknote from the Bank
Negara Malaysia. The set shows this 500 Ringgit design in different stages of
production.
One
Specimen is seen featuring the completed BWC design. The other pieces include a
full Color Trial of the completed back design, along with (2) partially
completed back designs with different Color Trials. An artist Proof design of
the front is also included. That piece features artist notations and pencil
markings throughout the design. The final piece is a nearly completed design as
a Color Trial with only the absence of serial numbers and the underprints.
These
sets are seldom seen and highly desirable, as it is difficult to find groupings
that feature the development of a bank note design through some of its most
important stages.
