IRVINE, Calif. (March 28, 2012) – Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio will present an exceptional selection of more than 3,100 lots of Chinese and East Asian coins and banknotes at The Mira Hong Kong, April 1-4, 2012, HKT. The four-day auction event is estimated to realize more than $10 million USD and offers three catalogs spotlighting a multitude of collections and highlights including the Wa She Wong Collection, Part III, the Frank Robinson Collection, Part II, the Dr. John Abner Snell Collection, Duplicates from the American Numismatic Society Museum Collection, and several others. Interested bidders are invited to join the live auction at The Mira in Kowloon, Hong Kong, or to bid online at StacksBowers.com.

The April 2012 auction comes as a follow-up to the highly successful Stack’s Bowers and Ponterio Hong Kong Auction of August 2011 that also featured the popular Wa She Wong Collection and the Frank Robinson Collection, and realized an incredible total in excess of USD$17.7 million.

“We are very pleased to report that since our first auction in 2010, our Hong Kong auctions continue to gain momentum,” said Rick Ponterio, executive vice president. “We now have four very busy days of auctions in April packed with the best Asian coins and paper money crossing the block in recent memory, from ancients through modern centuries.
