As a native of South Carolina, Bechtler gold has always piqued my interest. When I saw this $2.50 Bechtler gold come through our offices, I couldn’t help but be excited. This $2.50 Kagin-13 piece is graded by NGC as Mint State 63. In such great condition, this coin is likely to sell for $50,000 or perhaps more. Taking a look at the census reports, we see only two coins graded MS-63 by PCGS and NGC with none finer. This coin is a true rarity and should attract a lot of attention when it crosses the block in our Spring 2022 Showcase Auction.
